Biography: Laurie Leitch, Ph.D. has been a clinical trainer, researcher and psychotherapist for over 25 years. She is the Co-Founder and Director of the Trauma Resource Institute (TRI), a non-profit trauma training center which provides training in Trauma Resiliency Model (TRM), TRM-Veterans & Warriors (TRM-V,W), and TRM-Community (TRM-C). The three models provide stabilization skills training in biologically-based trauma treatment appropriate with complex trauma and for use with adults and children suffering from long-term and acute trauma as well as combat-zone trauma. Dr. Leitch has extensive experience providing clinical training and consultation in diverse and cross-cultural settings.

Her experience with complex trauma includes providing treatment following 9/11, treatment and clinical training in southern Thailand after the tsunami, in Louisiana following Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, providing TRM1 training to counselors working with genocide survivors in Rwanda, in China following the 5/12/08 earthquake, and in Internally Displaced Person's camps in Kenya following the post-election tribal violence. TRI currently has a project in Haiti providing TRM training post-earthquake.

Dr. Leitch's research has included social program and clinical evaluations for national foundations, the federal government, and non-profit organizations as well as outcome studies of TRM. Dr. Leitch is on the visiting faculty of the Upaya Zen Center's Buddhist Chaplaincy program which orients individuals to service in their local communities.
