Biography: C. Alexander Simpkins, Ph.D. is a psychologist who works in close collaboration with his wife, Annellen M. Simpkins Ph.D., also a psychologist. They specialize in the research and practice of meditation and hypnosis, ingredients of therapeutic effectiveness, fostering unconscious potential, and the applications of neuroscience for therapy. The Simpkins have authored 24 books about neuroscience, psychotherapy, hypnosis, meditation, and Eastern philosophy.

Their works encourage learning through philosophical, psychological, and neurological descriptions along with interactive engagement in exercises. Their books have won awards and been translated into numerous languages. They have been in private practice for several decades, using their meditative and hypnotic methods to facilitate mind-brain change. They have also taught meditation and hypnosis to people of all ages in their lecture-workshops offered at conferences, universities, and at state mental hospitals. They are long-time practitioners of martial arts and teach Tae Chun Do, a martial art that addresses the whole person through mind, body, and spirit. They are Reviews Editors for the Milton H.
