Calming the Flame in Body and Mind: A Comprehensive Program to Prevent and Reduce Inflammation - Details:

Inflammation is the underlying mechanism for many diseases-- atherosclerosis, stroke, arthritis, heart disease, allergies, asthma, Alzheimer's disease, and most likely cancer. Depression and anger, as well as trauma and environmental contaminants may lead to inflammation. Nutrition plays a key role in setting the sensitivity of the body and mind for inflammation. We will discuss foods that inflame and foods that operate much like NSAIDS without the complications. We'll also look at why a whole array of mind/body approaches such as physical exercise, qigong, yoga, Tai Chi, biofeedback, hypnosis, and guided imagery seem to play a role in reducing inflammation.
